98/365

Today the kids and I did a little exploring downtown.  I had promised Jackson that if he did well today in school on his tests that we would go celebrate all of his hard work.  He made all 100's so we decided to go downtown to the drug store where they have an old time soda fountain.  The kids got a real kick out of watching them mix the sodas.  It was pretty cool!  Probably the best cherry limeade I have ever had!  Jackson and Tyler got Cherry Vanilla Dr. Peppers and LOVED them.  Much better than the regular ones and much better than Sonic.  I have been missing my Sonic fix since moving here but I think I have found a new vice.  Jaci had homemade vanilla ice cream that was delicious!  The best part is that it was surprisingly cheap.  We also went into a few downtown shops and met some new people.  I think we will make weekly drugstore trips part of our routine as a reward for hard work.  I didn't bring my camera with me but next time I will be sure to bring it along because the building is amazing!
This evening I decided to let the kids make their own pizzas.  The LOVED it and had so much fun creating their own special pizza.  It was much more fun to eat when they made it!  Of xourse we had a pretty big mess to clean up but it was worth it.
Overall it has been a great day and the weather is amazing.  The wind FINALLY stopped blowing today and the temps were in the low 70's.  I love days like today!
Watching them cook!
