Today we had a busy but good day.  We started off the morning with Jackson going to baseball camp.  He had a great time and is so excited to go back tomorrow.

After lunch we headed out to start Jackson's tutoring.  His tutor is so sweet and I am confident she will get Jackson where he needs to be.  She also co-owns the preschool where Jaci and Tyler are on the waiting list.  Today she told us that both the kids had been accepted into the school.  I am so excited!  It is going to be an adjustment paying for a private Pre-K but she told me that the kids usually come out of there ready for kindergarten reading 150-400 words.  That is just crazy to me.  It is no wonder this school has such high standards.  At least now the little ones are getting a good start.

Someone didn't have such a great day.  In fact he had a really off day and although they are rare, when he has them they are miserable for everyone.  I am hoping that it was just a combination of being tired from the weekend and not getting his usual nap in.  Hopefully tomorrow will be a much better day for him.

Jackson made some orange Popsicles today.  He was so excited and can't wait until tomorrow to try them out.

Overall it was a great day other than poor Tyler.

Oh...Mom had her surgery today.  I haven't heard much from her other than Loyd calling and saying she was out of surgery and she was in recovery.  Maybe Tyler was feeling sorry for his MeMe today.

They LOVE their MeMe...and today was the last day that she is going to be able to hold them for several months.  Tomorrow mom goes in to have surgery to repair some damage done to her stomach 2 years ago when she had her double mastectomy and reconstruction.  Hopefully this will be the last thing she will ever have to do related to her breast cancer.  She never had to do chemo or radiation and she is completely cancer free but she has been through a lot and hopefully this will be the last thing she has to do.

We came home this afternoon to a terribly hot house.  I really miss having central heat and AC.  I think it was actually cooler outside than in the house.  We cooked a delicious steak dinner and enjoyed some sandbox time.

Tomorrow Jackson starts tutoring and baseball camp.  He is really excited about camp...the tutoring...not so much.

Hopefully we can get on a good summer schedule this week.  I feel like things have just been so crazy and unorganized and we need a little structure.  I think we all do better when we know what to expect out of the day.

Just had to share these of Jaci and Rhett.  The had come in from playing outside and both were hot and tired.

Look how much bigger he is than her.  She is 5 months older than him!  Crazy isn't it?!

Today we celebrated Tyler's 5th Birthday. He will be 5 on Tuesday. I can't believe my little boy is growing up so fast! We had a great day of swimming and outside fun and finished the night off with hot dogs, presents and of course a John Deere cake. This is the 4th year in a row that we have had a John Deere birthday cake. We didn't do a full blown party because we don't have a lot of people to invite since we moved but we did at least do the cake. My boy loves his John Deere!

We are heading home early tomorrow so that we can work on some house stuff. I am not looking forward to going home to that hot house. Blah!

We came in to Robert Lee tonight to celebrate Tyler's birthday before Mom is out of commission with her surgery.  I have been having a hard time getting the internet to work so I am going to call it a night.  I'll post more tomorrow!

Just another day here in Albany.  Tyler did have a funny moment this afternoon.  He was playing and got a splinter under his fingernail .  It was in there deep!  He was screaming and so upset with me.  When I told him I had to get it out he said, "No Mom...God god will take care of it.  It's fine."  I just love his little mind.  I of course made him let me work on it and after 1.5 hours we got it out.  He wasn't happy with me but I gave him a ring pop (hence the blue lips) and he let me do what I needed to.  Mommy took care of the splinter...God will handle the rest.

After supper we played outside for a couple of hours.  It was pretty nice out.  Hot but not too bad.

We are still finalizing our house plans and working on the lot situation.  It is stressful but I guess that is just part of the process.  I made 5 calls today trying to get a lot.  We have not gone to our 3rd set of back up lots and several things need to fall into place for us to get it.  We are looking at 3 lots with 3 different owners and we need 2 out of the 3 lots to build.  Not so easy working with so many people.  I am just trying to have faith that if it is meant to be it will work out.  Sometimes it isn't so easy but I am trying.

Most of my day today was spent in the middle of the floor working on house stuff.  (Sure would be nice if I had a kitchen table to work at!)  There were enough small changes that needed to be made to the floor plans that it took forever!  I still don't have it just right.  If they had been drawn out like I drew them out then we wouldn't have an issue but several things are off and for the life of me I can't figure out why!  I can understand losing space for walls etc. but some of the things this lady did just didn't make a lot of sense.  Guess that's what I get for being in the ER when the builder met the drawer with our plans.  Oh well...we will get it worked out.  In other news our lot situation is just looking worse by the day.  We had finally set our sights on 2 lots and figured if one didn't work out the other would.  On one lot the lady decided she didn't want to sell anymore and on the other lot the man was asking a completely crazy amount for each lot and we would have to buy all 3 together.  We were willing to pay a little more for the lots because they are nice and big but this guy was asking 15,000-17,000 more per lot than the others in the neighborhood are going for which is just crazy.  Back to the drawing board.  :(

The kids enjoyed a nice relaxing day.  We got some rain this afternoon which was nice.  It kept it from getting too hot.  I am not looking forward to the crazy heat this summer.  At least it won't be as humid as the Austin area!

 

Tonight we let the kids enjoy a nice long (hour) bath.  They made a huge mess but had a lot of fun.  I think they miss our old big tub.  It is a tight squeeze getting all 3 in this one.

152/365 5 Months of Blogging!

Today marks 5 months of blogging every day!  I am so happy I have managed to keep it up.

I have to say that today was a great day.  It was Toddler Tuesday at the art museum here in town so we loaded up this morning and headed out.  The kids just love it.  I love it.  It is so nice that there are so many activities for the kids to do here.  I really do love it.  I was also able to speak with the mom who I have been talking to over the past several weeks.  I really do enjoy visiting with her.  It is so nice to have another adult to talk to here.  The kids made stick horses which they love but our little house does not.  It is pretty crowded in here with 3 kids on stick horses riding around.

After Jacob got off of work we went and met with our builder to get our house plans.  They look pretty good.  Only a few small changes to make and then they will be finalized.  I am so excited!  We also found out that when our builder has been quoting us a price on our house that he is including the lot in with that.  That makes a HUGE difference in our budget.  We were figuring the cost of the house plus the cost of the lot.  I wanted to hug him tonight!  Jacob and I are so happy and feel like we have a little breathing room in our budget now.

After meeting with the builder we had supper and went over to some friend's house in Clyde.  They have 3 kids close in age to our 3 and the kids played while we visited.  We stayed much longer than we had planned but it was nice.  We all had a good time!  Other than the day Gale and Bonnie came to see me, this has been my best day here in Albany.  :)
