Does this picture just scream summer to you?
Popsicles, swimming and 100+ degree heat!
There were a few breaks in there to ride a tractor or a bicycle.
Then back to swimming.
That's how we spent our day trying to survive this heat wave.
We will probably be doing more of the same tomorrow.

211/365

Today the boys had their last day of summer camp.   I think they are going to be really sad next week when it is back to reality for them.
After camp we headed to Abilene to visit with Gale and the girls.
The kids enjoyed watching one of the events and seeing the girl's horses.
After we finished up at the horse stalls we headed back to their campsite and the kids did some swimming.
They have a pretty nice set up.
Although it was extremely hot today it was nice and breezy in the shade and we enjoyed just sitting around visiting.
The kids always love getting to see Alex and Erin!
They even did a little goofing off.
It was a great afternoon but everyone was so tired when we got home.
I was happy to see bedtime tonight!
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

210/365

Today we met with our builder and decided on our lot.  We are going with lot 19 and I think it is going to be perfect.  With the lot choice we had to make a few adjustments to our house plans so now we have a lot but our plans are being adjusted for the lot and the building restrictions.  Hopefully the changes won't take too long to get back.
It feels great to at least see the finish line (or should I say starting line...LOL) in sight.
After our meeting Jacob and the kids headed out to the pool while I cooked supper.
As you can see they had a blast!
They are loving being able to go swimming in their own pool!

209/365

Tonight Jackson, Jaci and I went and met up with Gale and her family for supper.  They are in Abilene for a rodeo for a couple of days.  The kids were so excited to see the Alex and Erin.  They haven't seen then since we moved and they have missed them.
After supper at the Olive Garden we went and enjoyed some ColdStone ice cream.
It was good!
Poor Tyler was home sick again today.  He has been running a fever on and off all day so we decided it was best for him to stay home with Jacob tonight.  He acts fine when the fever breaks but as soon as it comes back he is miserable.  He was sad to miss out on all of the fun.  Hopefully he will get to go see everyone in the next day or two.

208/365

Do I even dare to post this?
Yep...This is the preliminary survey of our lot.  Well...What was to be our lot.  Lot 20 was our original choice.  It was what we wanted from the moment we moved to this town.  We have been waiting almost 5 months for this lot but once we got the survey it wasn't all we hoped it would be.  It is a strange shape, which we knew it would be, but we didn't plan how bad it would be once you added in the wildlife easement (front dotted line that we can't build over) and then the 2 culverts that will go through the lot (drawn in with pencil)  You can see how we tried to fit our house on there but it just doesn't leave a lot of room for other things without them being in really low areas and we don't want that.  It is also weird how it goes over the road.  Not sure what they were thinking there.  So after driving out there again tonight in the rain we have decided that lot 19 will work.  We didn't really want to have someone building right across from us but at least we can position our house better on the lot.  When we drove out there and turned down the road there was a HUGE double rainbow going right over the road and ending at lot 19.  I took that as a sign.  Jacob and our builder will walk the lot on Thursday and hopefully we will be able to move quickly from there.
Tyler is sick again.  Running a fever and just overall feeling pretty bad.  Not sure what is going on with him.
Jackson finished up his last day of tutoring today until school starts.  He is so happy to have some time off to enjoy summer.
Jaci enjoyed having Tyler home from camp today.  Although he was sick she enjoyed having someone here with her.  They are cute together as long as it is just the 2 of them.

207/365

Today didn't end up being quite as busy as I had originally planned but that is OK.  I got a lot done around the house.
It's been raining on and off all day long.  Nothing heavy but a nice light rain that kept the temps down and the air smelling fresh.  Makes me ready for Fall.  I love Fall and the cooler temps!
It is supposed to be the same tomorrow which just makes me happy.  I am all for it raining up until we start building our house and then it needs to be dry.  It would appear that we aren't building any time soon so bring on the rain!

206/365

Tonight we were finally able to get in the pool.  Everyone had a good time.
I know we are really going to enjoy having it.
We have a busy week ahead of us and I am ready for it.
Hard to believe that this coming week is the last week in July.  Where has this summer gone?

205/365

Today we worked on setting up the Easy Set Pool.  This thing takes FOREVER to fill up and the kids just couldn't wait to get in and try it out.
(Notice Jaci trying to swim underwater?)
They are beyond thrilled to finally have a bigger pool.
They even had to try out the ladder.
(Obviously it is so deep you need one to get in it...LOL)
(And out of it!)
Hopefully by tomorrow it will have enough water to actually do some real swimming.

204/365

Someone got her first set of play makeup today.
She spent most of the afternoon making herself and me look beautiful.
(And by beautiful I mean I had purple and green eyeshadow on as well as blush all over my face and purple lipstick AROUND my lips...just like her!)
This picture just kills me!  There was absolutely no prompting on my part to make her to strike this pose.  I have no idea where she learned this from!
The boys were so tired today after a long week at camp.  Tyler actually came home and fell asleep on the couch.
We have had a relaxing evening and now I am going to work on trying to plan a little mini vacation to the DFW area.  We are thinking about the Great Wolff Lodge.  Anyone know of a good place to get a discount?  That place is awesome but so expensive.

203/365

Tonight I went and picked up a pool that my cousin was getting rid of.  It is an easy set pool like my mom has (only a little bigger!) and the kids are super excited about it.  They have been asking for one for awhile now but Jacob didn't want to buy one.  Thank goodness for my cousin giving us one or else we probably would have never got one.  By the time I got home the kids were in the bath and getting ready for bed so I just snapped some quick pictures right before bed.
Not much else to report so I am going to go watch a little TV and relax.
Night!

202/365

Tonight Tyler wanted to show off the garden.  It has really grown a lot.  We are getting a ton of squash from it and starting to get some corn coming on.  I have no clue why our okra plants aren't putting on any okra.  They are huge so you would thing that we would have a ton of okra.  Who knows.
The boys went and watched a movie in Breckenridge at camp today in addition to VBS.  They are really enjoying all of the extra activities.
Next week we are going to be signing Jaci up for Cheer camp.  The high school cheerleaders will be putting on the camp.  Technically you need to be 4 to enroll but everyone has said that since Jaci will be 4 the next week that they should take her.  I hope so.  She has been so sad that she hasn't been able to participate in the same summer camp or VBS that the boys are.  She is so excited at the thought of having somewhere to go.  I hope it works out.

201/365

Today we got back into our summer routine with the boys going to camp and then Jackson having tutoring.  Today his tutor invited me to come in and watch for the hour.  I am seeing a great deal of improvement in him and she is as well.  Today he earned money for doing a good job.  He loves getting rewards for doing good.  I really do love his tutor!
Tyler had a great day at camp.  They went to the Community Vacation Bible school and then after lunch they all went to the pool in Breckenridge.  Jackson apparently was really helpful with Tyler at the pool and helped him go down the waterslide over and over again.  He even tried to get him to jump off the low diving board but Tyler wouldn't do it.  Jackson is still jumping off of the high dive (with a life jacket)  and loving it.  The people at camp talk about how great they are with each other while camp.  They said they have never seen 2 brothers get along as well as the 2 of them.  I wish they were like that all the time at home as well.
Jaci was happy to get to play dress up all day today.  I bought her 'princess' gloves at Target last week and she couldn't wait to wear them with her princess dresses.  She is such a girl!  The only time those gloves came off today was when she ate, napped, or took a bath.  She loves those gloves.  For her birthday she wants more dress up stuff.  That is all she wants to do.  It is so cute!
On the home front...our house plans are final as of today.  Still no change on our lot situation.  It is very frustrating.  I am not going to say much more because I don't have anything nice to say about it.
