40/365

It was ridiculously cold here today but thankfully we didn't have nearly as much snow and ice as they had predicted so the kids all had school.  I could have tolerated a late start today but we were up and going on time today.  That's OK too...I always feel so much more productive on days when I am up and ready to face the day early.
This afternoon we braved the cold to go and work on the floors some more.  Our builder had been in there working with heaters going so the house was warm when we got there but quickly turned really cold.  As in see your breath cold!
We didn't bother doing anything with water today because it was just too cold so we worked on cleaning up the floors in the bathrooms and getting them covered again.  My bother in law will be in tomorrow to start tiling around the bathtubs and working on our shower so we wanted the bathroom floors to at least be clean so that it would be easier to work in there and he wouldn't be tracking that mess all over the house.  They were really bad!
Here is the boys bathroom after we pulled up the paper and swept it out.  Somehow some of the mud still got on them but hopefully it won't be too bad to clean.  I am really happy with how they turned out.  We will still have to put one or two more coats of sealer on them right before we move in but they look really nice.
This is just to give you an idea of how bad the floors are.  The bottom of the picture is the hallway which we have cleaned.  The top of the picture is Jackson's bedroom floor which we still have not cleaned.  I am so happy that we only have 3 rooms left to do.  We will probably try to get them finished up this weekend.

Our builder started putting down the floors in the great room today.  I don't understand why he is doing them right now before the fireplace or painting is done but he apparently has his reasons and I am trying not to question him.  I am really happy with how they turned out.  We wanted something rustic looking but not overdone.  I think they turned out perfect.
