Happy Halloween!

The kids had a great time tonight but they didn't last long.
They only wanted to go to about 20 houses and they were done.  I was so disappointed.
They did get a lot of good candy.  No junk candy at all.  There was even a house here that was making cotton candy right in front of you.  It was so cool!  Albany is definitely a great place for Trick or Treating!
Hope you all had a Happy Halloween!

303/365

Today we have had a fabulous day.  We worked out at the lot some and then got ready for today's Fall/Halloween activities.  This is the first time that Jaci has ever worn pink foam rollers in her hair.  It brings back so many memories for me because my mom always put them in my hair.  She didn't know what to think but liked her princess hair when it was all said and done.
We didn't make it out to Trick or Treat the downtown businesses because Jacob and the boys came in from the lot too late, but we did make it up to Jackson's school for the Fall Festival.
Tyler and Jackson were both skeletons.  Tyler has been asking to be one since last year and once Jackson saw me ordering Ty's costume he had to be one too.  Tyler couldn't wait to get into his costume!
Jacob thought Jackson was a bit old to be dressed as a nice skeleton and thought he needed a mask but this is what he wanted to be so I went with it.
Oh...and as an added bonus their costumes are actually PJ's from Gymboree so after they are done with the costumes we have an extra pair of super cool glow in the dark pajamas.
This year I let Jaci be a princess.  She picked Snow White.  She absolutely loves playing dress up and tea party right now and has been obsessed with making sure all of her princess dress up clothes are like they are in the movie.  (Meaning no short dresses!)  Snow White was the last costume we had to replace so after she is done with her trick or treating her costume will go into her dress up box so that it can be real like the real princesses!
The Fall Festival was so much fun.  Once again showing us how amazing the schools here are.  Everything was so well put together and just overall a nice experience.  This is one of the main fundraisers for the PTA and although the games did cost us .50 each it was worth it because the PTA here does so much for the schools and we have seen that first hand.
It was a lot of fun for us all!
It was also so neat to see Jaci and Tyler recognizing their classmates from school.  Jaci even road the train with a little boy from her class who just jumped in with her.  It was so cute!
Here are today's pictures of the house progress.  The basement is now cleaned out.
Here is a view of our garage.  It doesn't look much like a 3 car garage in this picture.
They finished up filling in the rest of the dirt around the basement yesterday.
This is an overall view of the house.  The house and porches will be from the front boards to the back boards.  You can see one of the sides but the other one hasn't be set yet.
As of right now it is looking like it will be about 8 days until they pour the foundation.  Our builder doesn't want to be rushing the process and wants to make sure the dirt settles in around the basement good so he is holding off another 4 days.  We are fine with that.  We just want it to be right.

Today it got cold...really cold!
I am not ready to face winter in this house without heat.
This morning it showed it was 33 degrees outside with a wind chill making it feel like 27 degrees.
It got nice out this afternoon but the house never really warmed up today.
It is going to be a long couple of months until we get into out house!
Tonight the boys went to the last home football game.  Jackson was just begging to go so Jacob put off going out to the lot and working and took the boys to the game.
Tyler was excited about going.  He hasn't ever shown a lot of interest in sports but after going to a football game he wants to play football.  He is also showing an interest in baseball but I have a feeling he is going to be our football boy.
Jaci stayed home with me.  We had a Tea Party and are watching Snow White.
Tomorrow should be a busy day with with working on the lot and then Jackson has a Fall Festival at his school.
The kids are so ready for this weekend and Trick or Treating!
Hope you all have a great weekend!

Today was another day of non stop running around.  While the kids were at school I worked on getting the house clean and in order.  After I got them it was time for lunch and nap.  During nap time our realtor came by to visit and wanted to go see the house progress.  I had to wake the kids up and they weren't happy at all!  Tyler wouldn't even talk to her and was quite rude.  On school days they are just so tired and NEED their nap!  Today was proof of that.
This evening we took Jacob out to see the progress.  While we walk around the kids enjoy having sand fights and rolling around in the sand pile.  It is a HUGE mess once we get home and sand starts falling our of their socks, shoes and pockets.  Tonight we were watching The Great Pumpkin and Tyler asked me to come and snuggle with him on the couch (a rare request...I loved it!).  I went over and snuggled up with him and of course then Jaci wanted to join in.  We all snuggled in on the couch and before I knew it I had sand all over my face, in my hair and all over the couch.  Apparently it was in both their pockets and their hair and it got all over me and the couch.  That's OK though...I loved the snuggles.
Jackson is really enjoying seeing how everything is coming together.  He has taken quite the interest in how everything is working out there.  It is funny to me when he is asking about water pipes and electric lines.  Not your typical 7 year old talk.

Today they finished up the trusses and covered them up with the wood.  They got all of the water pumped out of the basement but we will have a lot of clean up to do in there.  Jacob and I are doing our own clean up to save us some money.  It isn't going to be a lot of fun but it will save us several thousand dollars so it is worth it.
They also got started sealing the outside of the basement.  They didn't have quite enough to finish up the job so they will hopefully finish up tomorrow.
They also got started on some of the frame work for the slab on the house.  We can now see our house lines and picture exactly where everything will be.  As of this afternoon they are planning on pouring the foundation next Friday.  We'll see if they are able to keep that schedule.

300/365

Can anyone guess what we did this evening?
My kids have been so excited about carving pumpkins for the past several days.
Of course it is all fun and exciting until the pumpkin guts start coming out.  Jacob hauled Tyler off to go check out the lot while I was supposed to get the others started on their pumpkins.  He conveniently stayed gone until after all of the gross work was done!
I ended up scooping out the guts from 3 pumpkins because after about 3-4 minutes Jackson and Jaci were over it!
Jackson did a great job carving his pumpkin himself with the pumpkin carving tools.
Jaci got to do some of the work on her pumpkin and I finished it off.  She did pretty good but couldn't stay straight.  She was really good at punching the holes in it though!
When Tyler got home he was ready to get to work on his pumpkin.
He did a really good job on his, but needed some help with the mouth.
He was so proud of his finished pumpkin!
My 3 little pumpkins with their pumpkins!
Jackson's finished pumpkin.  He did a great job all on his own!
All set up and glowing tonight!

In other news, after Jackson got out of school we headed out to our lot to talk with our builder.  They are moving along with things out at the lot.
The kids enjoyed playing in the water that was being pumped from our basement.
The form boards are all down as of today!
And the steel trusses are going in!
I can't believe that we still have this much water in the basement.  Thankfully it didn't do any damage to the walls!
As I was saying goodbye to our builder I thought the kids were supposed to be loading up in the car but instead I found them over watching the water line going in.
Have I mentioned how much they are enjoying this all?
I am so happy that we are doing this as a family and making memories.
It is so exciting!

Oh...and HAPPY 300th post!  Whoo hoo!

Today seemed like it was a day of non stop running and phone calls.  It is good though.  It just means that we are moving closer to getting into our house.  I can't imagine doing this and working full time.  I have been researching everything we are going to do or put into out house and therefore every decision is taking me forever to make.  I am also trying to find the best deal possible so that means once I finally pick something I am then looking everywhere trying to figure out the best deal.  I have found some great deals on some awesome stuff so it is all worth it.
I love a bargain!
Today I had promised the kids we would carve pumpkins once Jacob came home from work.  Turns out there were no pumpkins to be found in the town of Albany.  We headed off to Breckenridge and had to go to 3 stores before we finally found some.  By the time we got home we had to do homework and get supper ready and have baths so we didn't get the pumpkins carved tonight.
Hopefully tomorrow!
Thankfully even though we had a busy day it was still a great day.

Not much news to report today.
Just another beautiful Fall day!
Playing outside and enjoying the cooler temperatures!
Makes us all happy!
